Quick Hitch and Mower project

I already had the MA210 snowblower and L8 tractor, so I wanted to expand. The next logical step was a mower deck of some sort. After looking around for a bit, I found a guy willing to sell me a 40", three spindle, Quick Hitch (QH) mower deck. This has made my lawn mowing that much easier during the past summer.

But as I researched and got more knowledgeable, and as I kept getting pushed by my wife to get a chipper/shredder attachment at some point, I realized that my original QH didn't come with a safety clutch, which after some of the issues I had this summer, I felt was a necessary thing to get.

The problem I ran into was that the QH mower deck mounting has some flanges which interfere with the new QH. These images show the problem:

Side view of the Quich Hitch receptacle on the mower frame. Notice the flanges on the bottom, which hook into the quick hitch.
End of view of the Quick Hitch Receptacle, with another shot of the flanges.
This shows how the Quich Hitch fits onto the mower. Notice how the flanges fit nicely into the area below the pin on the Quick Hitch.
