But as I researched and got more knowledgeable, and as I kept getting pushed by my wife to get a chipper/shredder attachment at some point, I realized that my original QH didn't come with a safety clutch, which after some of the issues I had this summer, I felt was a necessary thing to get.
The problem I ran into was that the QH mower deck mounting has some flanges which interfere with the new QH. These images show the problem:
